DieTrollDie Article in “Ctwatchdog.com” – Sued For Downloading Porn? One Victim’s Answer

I hope everyone had a great weekend and is getting ready for St Patrick’s Day.

I had a nice notice from Ctwatchdog.com, as they posted my article I submitted.  Most of it is the same information you will find here.  Hopefully it reaches some of the new Does before they give into fear.  Please pass it along to friends and others via Facebook, Twitter, or any other means.  Thanks!

Keep up the great work 🙂

Everything on your site and similar sites has been so helpful. Quick question – What information will the ISP turn over to the plaintiff?

  3. DieTrollDie says:

What information they get depends on three things. (1) What information the ISP has on record. (2) What the Troll asks for. (3) What the judge allows the ISP to release.

This usually means the Troll will get the name of the ISP subscriber (person who pays the bill), the physical address of where the service is provided (Address), telephone number(s), email addresses, and the MAC address of the cable/DSL modem that is associated with this account. The ISP releases the account information that they can associate with the public IP address the Troll provided for a specific date and time.

The Troll really only wants the name, address, telephone numbers, and email addresses so they can start to send out settlement demands. The information on the MAC address of the modem is basically worthless, as most people use a WiFi Firewall/Router which hides all the internal devices and internal IP addresses from the outside world.
